It’s been a quiet few years, and the McCall Pack has grown and settled. But, when the Hale Pack return to Beacon Hills they find Scott isn’t as welcoming as they had hoped. Soon they, Stiles, and Lydia, find out that not everything about the McCall Pack is as it has always seemed. Anthracite [n] hard, shiny coal that has a high carbon content. It’s been almost a year to the day since I finished posting this monstrosity! I consider it my fix-it!fic for the universe that was Teen Wolf. It’s certainly not for everyone – as always, heed the tags! – but if you’re put off by the word count alone, please don’t be! Especially if you like a slow-burn into the Sterek relationship.
Why: This is a really cute and funny (and slightly angsty!)
fusion with Monsters Inc, where Derek has lived as a wolf-monster and scarer
for so long, he’s forgotten who he really is. But everything changes when he
walks through Stiles’ closet door, and doesn’t avoid the teenager, but becomes
friends with him instead. I really loved seeing Derek’s little journey of
self-discovery, and the way Stiles tries to help him figure everything out.
Why: This is a bizarre but oddly charming fic, with the
Hales as actual showed-up-in-a-spaceship aliens
(werewolf aliens, of course) that disrupt Stiles’ life in the best way. I loved
Derek the awkward but sweet alien, and Laura with her confident, take-charge
attitude. And my favorite thing was the scene on the plane, where I was both
worried for Stiles and very amused.
In case you think the premise is too cracky, I assure you it is a lot of fun,
but also very sweet and genuine!
Why: This is a really lovely, unexpectedly soft zombie AU!
The pack have gathered in Derek’s loft, and are slowly trying to take back
their town. What I love is the way Derek keeps tabs on the other survivors, and
of course, always make sure Stiles is okay. Even if it means losing a little
sleep in the process. This is a moment of stillness in the midst of a long
uphill battle, and it’s just delightful.
Why: This fic is magical, but I think my favorite part about
it is that Derek spends the majority of the story in his wolf form, meaning
Stiles has no idea what Derek looks
like (negating him being attracted to Derek only due to his looks), and has to
learn how to communicate with Derek when he doesn’t actually talk. I love all
the cuddle times between Stiles and wolf Derek, and I think their relationship
builds really beautifully!
January seventh. Seven days since the start of 2015, and seven days since his father’s death.
The bastard, he thinks bitterly. The past year Derek Hale had made it blatantly obvious that he hated his scrawny guts, taking every given opportunity to shove him up against a wall, growl threats in his ears and roll his eyes whenever he stepped into the room, muttering some snide comment about how spastic or idiotic he was.
Derek picks up another glass of champagne, and that’s when he sees him. A man stands at the edge of the room, chewing his lip and staring at the dance floor longingly.
Every person walks past him. Derek must have done it a hundred times this evening. – Derek is not one for dancing, but at a ball he meets Stiles, an orphan, and he becomes quickly attached. He does not care what other people think about Stiles’ wealth and status, but it’s a lot harder for Stiles to ignore the comments that have haunted him his whole life.
It’s even harder to convince Stiles that Derek’s feelings are genuine.
Stiles Stilinski’s life as a comic book store owner in Beacon Hills, California had been satisfying enough, but he’s been inevitably becoming increasingly bored and antsy with the cyclical nature of his life in a smaller town.
Enter Frame: The famous Hollywood bad boy and contender for Sexiest Man Alive, Derek Hale, who proceeds to turn his world upside down, but somehow brings him closer to the things he knew were most important he had lost sight of along the way.
And maybe it’s irony, or the universe at work, or maybe it’s just Derek Hale’s shitty luck, but that’s when, at that exact moment (as Stiles will swear later), there’s a knock on the door. “Laura?” Derek breathes in disbelief, and Stiles feels his own face fall into confused slackness. Because the girl standing in the doorway? The last time Stiles had seen her—or, well, half of her—she’d been very naked, and very, very dead. “Hey, baby bro,” she says with a grin. … OR: The one where Laura comes back from the dead, and it turns out to be bad for Stiles, because he’s suddenly spending a lot of quality time with one of the coolest people he’s ever met, and her brother. The guy that he might be just a little in love with. He’s not okay.
Gerard does something despicable and the pack are left shattered after Stiles is killed…. or is he??
Set at the end of season 2 because honestly I have a fascination with that episode! Canon compliant up until then but then everything goes a little crazy!
Do not read if you don’t like Hurt or kidnapped Stiles because there is a lot of it….
The words were stuck on loop, Stiles’ broken voice repeating them over and over. Derek didn’t realize he was crying until he let out a broken noise, so low he could barely hear it himself. His hands dug into his eyes trying to stop the flow but the tears kept coming. He couldn’t breathe, he couldn’t think, he couldn’t be strong like he’s supposed to be.
He was weak. So weak.
He walked away from the only person that felt like home.
Somewhere in the back of his mind he couldn’t help but acknowledge that by the time he got back, his home would be miles away, once again leaving him all alone.

Biologically, Stiles is weak. When he presented as an omega, he knew that to be the truth but that never stopped him from running his mouth as a defense mechanism. However, it could only save him so many times before he ended up pissing off the wrong person. After he’s attacked in the parking lot outside of school, Stiles realizes he can no longer protect himself with just pure wit and sarcasm. When the attack lands him in the hospital, his dad forces him to pick between two options, report the alphas who attacked him or join a kickboxing gym run by omega rights activist and alpha, Derek Hale, a man Stiles has been in love with for many years.
“So,” says Sheriff Stilinski, raising one eyebrow. “You decided not to play video games at Scott’s, after all?”
“Uh,” Stiles says. His eyes are wide and caught-out, and he’s got his arms wrapped around two giant tubs of popcorn. Beside him, Derek Hale—the same Derek Hale that the Sheriff last saw in his interrogation room—is handing a $20 bill to the cashier and clearly trying to appear as casual as possible. He fumbles the change three times before he gets it into his pocket, though, so it’s a lost cause.
No one wants to be the bearer of bad news to someone as nice as Sheriff Stilinski – especially when he’s your boss. That’s why none of his employees want to be the first one to tell him about the scandalous goings-on between his only son and the former murder suspect Derek Hale. For all of their sakes, hopefully the Sheriff will find out all on his own…
It turns out that although Stiles may be the one who’s been caught wearing panties, he isn’t the only one with an awkward boner, and that makes him feel a whole lot better about this situation.
Stiles squirms uncomfortably in his seat, trying to maneuver himself just right to work the lacy underwear out of his ass crack. It’s only making it worse. He gives up all pretense of manners and shoves his hand down his pants to right them instead. This day can’t go by quick enough.
“How long do we have?” Derek’s breath was husky and aroused, his eyes never leaving Stiles’ lingerie clad body.
Derek had a slight lisp from where his fangs had dropped down into his mouth, his salivary glands working overtime in his arousal, and his claws were extended, digging mercilessly into the mattress. Derek was so turned on right now and the Wolf was so close to the surface, Stiles’ didn’t know where he had found the restraint to sit there as still as he was. He sounded so close already, Stiles just wanted him to let loose.
He turned, and blanched. It was Tall, Dark and Beautiful – his voice was softer then Stiles imagined but no less gorgeous – and he was holding up a pair of red lace panties, the tips of his ears turning pink.
They weren’t even the only pair Stiles owned. He liked the feeling of the material against his skin. They made him feel good and just a little bit naughty.
Summary: Stiles is not expecting a male model in tall boots and breeches to emerge, smiling at him
a little hesitantly, and he has to take half a second to remind himself to keep cool.
Notes: According to @smowkie, there are not enough sterek fics
with horses. And since horses are one of my great passions, I figured I’d write
a little something. There is a lot of English riding jargon in this fic, but
you don’t really need to know it to understand the story. I’m just using it to
set Stiles up as competent. But if you’d like to see the difference between
