The Hunter-Jumper Connection

dragon-temeraire:

Summary: Stiles is not
expecting a male model in tall boots and breeches to emerge, smiling at him
a little hesitantly, and he has to take half a second to remind himself to keep cool.

Notes: According to @smowkie, there are not enough sterek fics
with horses. And since horses are one of my great passions, I figured I’d write
a little something. There is a lot of English riding jargon in this fic, but
you don’t really need to know it to understand the story. I’m just using it to
set Stiles up as competent. But if you’d like to see the difference between
hunter and jumper, I’m providing links below. (Fic on AO3)

Hunter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOT6a3ax37M&t=466s
(this video is really long, sorry! Just watch a round or two to get the idea)

Jumper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFoEkASQNu0
(this is a jump-off, so it’s even more aggressive and fast than regular jumper
rounds)

“Hey,” Erica says, just as Stiles is tugging off his boot.
“You have a lesson trailering in, he should be here soon.”

“What?” Stiles says, pausing. “No, I don’t. I checked the
schedule yesterday, and—”

“It was a last-minute add, but I knew you were free all
afternoon,” Erica says sweetly. “I also know you’re trying to save money for a
new hay shed, so.”

Sterek AUGravity’s Got Nothing On You by Zosofi

“How much,” Stiles asks, “are we talking here? Because I know your family, dude. And it’ll be kind of awkward after.”

“My family thinks you’re some sort of fucking gift to the world,” Derek seethes, like he’s jealous, “they’ll probably be pissed at me when we break it off, so don’t worry about that. Five hundred bucks.”

“A thousand,” Stiles says, because screw ethics. Also, the Hale family is loaded. Derek can deal.

hoechlinth:

Sterek AU: Stiles thinks that waiting for Derek in his room will be spontaneous and romantic, however Derek doesn’t seem to see it that way. The terms ‘creepy’ and ‘stalkerish’ may have been mentioned and the phrase ‘get the hell out of my room, Stiles!’ might have been used. Over all though, Stiles doesn’t think this is too bad a start to their epic (and clearly destined) romance. At least now he has definite confirmation that Derek knows his name.

“It’s not your job to monitor my dating life. I will tell Laura. I will.”

“She’d agree that someone’s got to look out for you,” Derek huffs, like he’s doing Stiles a favour. A goddamn favour.

“The days of you controlling my dating life are over.” Stiles is seething.

“We’ll see about that.” Derek’s got that infuriatingly hot smirk on his face, Stiles can hear it.

My boyfriend and I were downtown and he saw fresh sunflowers, which is his best friend’s favorite flower, and he not only bought one for him but had me drive him to his best friends house so he could surprise him with it and I just think this is the type of male friendship that should be normalized

The words for today’s @sterekdrabbles challenge were pack, polite and keep. I originally wanted something fluffy, but, yeah, this happened instead?

“You know,” Stiles said, “it’s not polite to keep a man tied up.”

The woman pacing in front of him snarled and flashed her eyes.

“Oh, yes, big scary Alpha. I’m trembling. See, this is me trembling.” Stiles somehow managed to lift his hand and flip her off, which only made her snarl more.

“I should just kill–” Howls sounded throughout the warehouse and the woman whirled to face the doorway.

“Yeah, that’d be the pack. I don’t think you thought the whole ‘kidnapping the Alpha’s mate’ thing through, did you?”

Derek burst through the door and the woman screamed.
