Okay but like Derek not believing Stiles is a stunt double because he’s very lean and scrawny looking. Derek mistaking Stiles as a temp and asking him to go get him coffee. Stiles being a little offended by this and getting Derek a coffee with ~~two salts~~ I mean two sugars. Derek demanding he’d be fired for the joke and stiles being all “I can’t be fired from a job I never had asshole.” But before Derek could respond Stiles is called to set for a scene.
It’s @ladydrace‘s birthday today and I managed to write something that was finished on the actual day!!! I know you haven’t had a great day, and I hope this heavy dose of fluff can help, it has dragons and royalty! =D (I very knowingly stole a name for a dragon from your Flight Rising fic, I hope you don’t mind =D ♥) I hope you’re having a good night, Minna, lots of hugs and love ♥♥♥ (3864
Stiles was never opposed to the idea of an arranged marriage. He was to be king one day, his responsibilities were to the people of Beacon, so when the Argents started to discreetly sniff their northern borders and the suggestion came of an arranged marriage between Stiles and Derek, prince of Triskele, their neighbor to the east, he immediately accepted. While Beacon and Triskele had always been friendly with each other he knew an alliance like that, between the magic users of Beacon and the shifters of Triskele, would make a force not many went against.
He didn’t know Derek, hadn’t met him since they were young children, but he had met his sister and their parents a few times in recent years, and they were great people. Of course Stiles wanted love and happiness in a marriage, but he thought that if they both wanted that they could be happy. Maybe not in love, but happy, and they could learn to love each other in some capacity. He was positive, it could be good, he would work hard for it, and he hoped Derek would too.
I already commented on AO3, but this was absolutely lovely, and I need to thank you again, because OMG. SO GOOD. Guys, you need to read this. Read it and cry over the perfect drama free fluff. ❤
Stiles goes backpacking across Europe and eventually settles with his family in Poland to go to uni there. He’s trying his hardest to forget the drama of the past, and to get over a certain werewolf he once knew, but it turns out that’s not as easy to do as he’d hoped.
Stiles stared into eyes that were just a little lighter than even the day before, looking almost beta-gold in the harsh lighting. His nose was just a little less uptilted, the moles on his face not quite where they used to be. The scar on the bottom of his chin from when he fell off the swings in third grade was just gone. He seemed a little bit taller, his shoulders a little bit wider.
With trembling fingers Stiles folded his left ear forward, craning his neck. A wheezing breath escaped him, his legs suddenly feeling weak with relief.
The mark of the Oni was still there, the one that meant self.
Six months after Derek and Cora leave Beacon Hills, Stiles gets a text from Cora – they’re in trouble and need help. Turns out that Derek is being wooed by a neighboring pack. The Alpha remembers his mother fondly and would love to have a Hale in her pack. Especially if that means she might breed in the ability to change into a full wolf. And she’s not taking ‘no’ for an answer, even when Derek lies and tells her that he already has a mate.
Except Derek didn’t lie. When Stiles shows up to help with the emergency, he inadvertently discovers that he is Derek’s mate. Stiles tries not to think about it (he knows that the mate bond isn’t written in stone, just look at Scott and Allison) as he (and Lydia, and Deaton) research mates and the challenges to the mate bond (because, of course there’s a ritual for that) and try to keep the Alpha of the Palmer pack from discovering Stiles’ connection to Derek.
Throw in the monkey wrench of Peter showing up, and Stiles starting to have feelings, and Derek sometimes looking at him like … Stiles doesn’t know, but he doesn’t hate it, and things begin to get a little bit complicated.
The Hales have been tracking a group of hunters who’ve targeted small packs with the help of a magic user. When they finally attack the hunter compound, they aren’t expecting to find Stiles, a Spark who’s practically a slave, and his young werewolf son. Derek isn’t expecting the Spark to be his mate, either.
The wedding of Governor Derek Hale to the beloved Prince Stiles Stilinski of Beacon is the first of its kind, after the war. The first Alpha werewolf to marry one of the recently deposed aristocracy. It’s for the good of their people. It’s an arrangement, one Stiles loathes. But as Stiles learns more about werewolves and his grumpy husband. As Derek watches his proud, clumsy prince– Maybe an arrangement isn’t all it can be. Maybe what’s good for the people can be exactly what both of them need.
“Hybrid mutation. Human consumption heightens senses and raises body temperature. Prolonged use may cause skin to exude a scent which seems to mesmerize werewolves, rendering them helpless. Application to a werewolf will render them to a state of suggestibility. Control may be exerted by nearby humans. Studies suggest effects last several hours.”
