BASICALLY, THE IDEA HERE IS, ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIP FIC WHERE STILES AND DEREK SEND EACH OTHER SEXY SNAPCHATS REGULARLY, UNTIL ALL OF A SUDDEN DEREK STOPS.
OR SO IT SEEMS. WHEN REALLY IT’S BECAUSE DEREK’S BEEN ACCIDENTALLY SENDING THEM TO SCOTT. THEY BOTH START WITH AN S, TOUCHSCREENS ARE HARD, AND DEREK’S THUMB IS TOO BIG.
Melissa and John draw closer to finding out who the Shifter
is, but Stiles is racked with guilt over his kiss with Derek. He has managed to
shut the man out of his dreams, but he can’t help but feel drawn towards him
still.
Things go to hell when Stiles pulls Derek aside at the
police fundraiser event (for which the Hale family are huge donators) and begs
him not to ever tell anyone about their kiss. Derek swears not to tell anyone,
but unfortunately for Derek, Malia happened to be standing around the corner
and overheard everything.
The next day, Malia comes storming into the bar, livid. She punches
Derek, knocking him to the floor, and storms out again. Stiles runs to Derek’s
side, making sure he’s okay before chasing after Malia. She tells him that she
overheard them at the function. She pulls her engagement ring off her finger
and shoves it against Stiles’ chest before storming off.
Stiles is left, heartbroken and speechless, as Malia walks
away.
Stiles spends the next week agonising over everything that’s
happened. At least until one day, when Peter shows up at the bar to take Derek
out for lunch. Just as Derek is about to leave on his lunch break, Stiles collapses.
Derek insists they call an ambulance but Stiles shrugs it
off, telling him he feels fine. Derek tells Stiles to go home and covers his
shift while Peter drives him home.
Stiles passes out in the car and he only remembers waking up
on the couch before the fire in the lounge room of the Hale manor. He sits up
stiffly and sees Malia sitting across from him.
She tells him Peter brought him to the manor after he passed
out and when Malia got home, she found Stiles lying on the lounge room floor,
his heart stopped. She says that she realised that she came close to losing him
and doesn’t want to. So she asks him if he’ll marry her. Stiles says yes.
As Stiles returns home that night to tell everyone the news,
he realises something’s different; something’s wrong.
His powers are gone.
The rest of the wedding planning goes well. Scott shows up
to the bar carrying a black suit bag. Stiles takes his break and he and Scott
go into the back room to try on his suit for the wedding. As he looks into the
mirror, the reality of the situation settles in. He’s getting married at the
end of the week.
At that moment, Derek comes into the back room to fetch
something from the back room and freezes in his tracks, staring at Stiles in
awe.
Stiles feels his heart ache and can see Derek’s heart
breaking. Derek turns and leaves without another word.
The night before the wedding, Melissa and John try a spell
to track the magic of the Shifter. But the spell takes time and they probably
won’t get an answer until morning.
The doorbell rings and Stiles answers it, finding Derek standing
on the doorstep. He desperately tells Stiles that he loves him and begs Stiles
to run away with him.
Stiles is torn, tears welling in his eyes as he tells Derek
that he can’t.
Derek reluctantly leaves, but as he turns to walk away, he
tells Stiles that he’s leaving in the morning. If Stiles changes his mind,
Derek will be waiting for him by the woods.
Melissa comes in time to see Derek walk away and to see her
nephew shut the door in time to hide his tears.
“Stiles?” Melissa says quietly, stepping over to the boy’s
side. “Are you alright?”
“I’m fine,” Stiles says dismissively, sniffing back his
tears.
“Who was that?” Melissa asks.
“No one,” Stiles replies.
“Sweetie, I think you and I need to talk.”
Melissa tells him about all his past lives, about how he
fell in love with the same soul over and over again; a soul resurrected over and
over again. That person – Stiles’ soulmate – was the man at the door.
This leaves Stiles more conflicted than ever. He faces a
choice: marry Malia or run away with Derek.
Morning comes, and Stiles hasn’t slept. He’s spent all night
sitting on his bed staring at his suit.
Finally, he makes his choice.
As the sun comes up he drives up to Hale manor. He goes
inside to see Malia who frantically covers her eyes and lectures him about how
the bride and groom aren’t meant to see each other on their wedding day.
Stiles feels numb as he tells her to open her eyes. He tells
her that she deserves to find love and happiness; that she deserves better than
him.
Tears well in Malia’s eyes as she slowly nods. Stiles gives
her a kiss on the cheek and leaves, feeling his heart break for her.
Meanwhile, John rushes downstairs to find Stiles, finding a
note next to the spell tracking the Shifter. He reads the note and holds it out
for Melissa as she comes to join him in the kitchen.
“Mel,” John mutters, looking down at the swirling ink in the
dish – the tracking spell that forms the face of the Shifter. “We have a
problem.”
Melissa looks into the dish and feels her stomach twist as
she looks at the familiar face.
Peter Hale.
They hurry to the manor, afraid that Stiles might be there
still. When they get there, Peter realises that they’re onto him and lashes
out.
They fight back in defence, but Peter is overwhelmed by the
backlash of a spell and is consumed by fire.
Across town, Derek is waiting by the reserve. He’s standing
outside his four-wheel-drive, slouching back against the driver’s door and looking
down at his phone, watching the minutes tick by. His heart sinks into his
stomach as time passes. Finally he gives up, letting out a dejected sigh as he
pushes himself onto his feet and pulls the door open.
He pauses, hearing the rumble of an engine approaching.
He looks up to see a beat-up blue Jeep. The Jeep pulls into
the parking lot and the driver steps out, stashing the keys under the rim of
the front wheel.
Derek is shocked, he’s not completely sure that what he’s
seeing is real.
“You came,” Derek says, agasp.
“I came,” Stiles replies. He looks over his shoulder at the
Jeep and explained, “I left a note for my dad to find the Jeep and I-”
Before he can help himself, Derek runs forward and pulls
Stiles into his arms, crushing their mouths together in a passionate kiss.
Allison’s dead, but Scott doesn’t seem heartbroken at all.
Meanwhile, Stiles is being haunted by his mother. Melissa is quick to work out
that Scott’s not mourning because he never really lost Allison: he summoned her
spirit. But every spell has consequences.
Stiles and Scott have the same mother but different fathers,
but after their mother died and Scott’s father sided with the man who cursed
John and Melissa, John took in Scott and raised him as if he were his own.
However, after centuries on earth, John made the mistake of falling in love
with a mortal: Claudia.
Claudia believed Stiles was her son, but after a tragic
incident in which the boys died when they were only five years old, only to be
reborn again, Claudia began to lose her mind, shouting at Stiles that he was a
monster.
Now that Scott has opened the path to the realm of spirits,
Claudia is after Stiles, harnessing electrical currents to attack him. While
finishing his shift at the bar, Derek leaves to take out the garbage, leaving
Stiles alone. Claudia takes her chance, shattering the lights, short-circuiting
the fuses, and lashing out with electricity. Stiles is lucky he wasn’t hit, but
Derek – hearing the man’s screams – runs back inside to see if he’s okay.
Stiles shouts for him not to touch the lights, but he’s too
late. Derek is electrocuted, his body thrown backwards and his heart stopped.
He’s rushed to hospital where Stiles waits nearby, tears streaming down his
face as he prays for a blip on the machine.
John finds out about the incident and rushes to the
hospital. He finds Claudia’s spirit standing outside the hospital room,
watching Stiles sit by Derek’s bed. John warns her that if she doesn’t leave
tonight – since it’s a full moon – she’ll be stuck there and will never be able
to move on. Claudia agrees to leave and, that night, John sends her back to the
realm of spirits, saying one last goodbye.
At the same time, Scott makes the hardest decision to let
Allison go.
A few weeks later, John is able to prove himself innocent,
but while he’s out and the boys are working, the Shifter attacks Melissa,
stabbing her and leaving her to bleed out on the kitchen floor.
Scott finds Melissa dead in the kitchen and uses a
resurrection spell to bring her back. Melissa is brought back to life, but
she’s mad at Scott for doing what he did. She explains that she’s cured and
would have come back to life anyway – it’d just take longer. But because Scott
used a resurrection spell to bring her back, someone he loves must die.
Scott starts to shut himself off from everyone he cares
about, his heart aching as he turns away from his dad, Melissa and Stiles. But
even more so for the girl he loves; Allison.
Meanwhile, Stiles is conflicted over his kiss with Derek.
And Derek isn’t exactly making it easy. He keeps coming to Stiles in his dreams
and to the bar where Stiles works. Stiles tells him the kiss was a mistake and despite
whatever feelings they have for each other, they can’t be together. Stiles
reminds Derek that he’s engaged to Malia and asks him to stay away.
But things get worse one night when the bar is too busy for
Stiles to manage on his own. The next thing he knows, Derek is behind the bar
helping him out. And to Stiles’ dismay, Derek impressed the manager enough to
get a job there.
Stiles is dreading the thought of being around Derek,
knowing that he can’t get the man out of his head and knowing that he has
feelings for Derek that he cannot deny.
Derek notices how uncomfortable his presence is making
Stiles and offers to just be friends. Stiles agrees.
Weeks later, John’s name is cleared and life returns to a
somewhat-normal state. Until one day when Allison comes to Scott’s work, asking
him for a date and before he can think, he agrees. After she leaves, he starts
to panic and calls Stiles. Stiles calms him down, knowing that Scott is afraid
of the backlash from the resurrection spell. Stiles convinces him to go out
with Allison, to not be afraid of falling in love, because otherwise life feels
rather cold and lonely.
So Scott does, and the date goes great, until they’re
walking home. It starts to rain so the two of them run for cover, giggling as
they huddle together under Allison’s front porch.
Scott smiles as he leans in close and kisses Allison. She
smiles into the kiss, looping her arms around his neck and pulling him closer.
But as they draw back, a stream of blood drips from Allison’s nose.
Scott barely opens his mouth when her eyes roll back and her
body collapses to the ground. He tries to catch her, holding her lose as he
shouts over the rain, hoping someone will hear him.
Sheriff Stilinski comes running into the hospital, finding
Scott sitting in the waiting room, slumped against Stiles’ shoulder as his
brother holds him closer. His eyes are red from crying and his face is wet with
tears.
A nurse comes over to tell Sheriff Stilinski what happened.
inspired by #hot weatherman derek hale and all the other comments under my TH gifset and this I saw two fics link/ written under the gifset (here and here)
Warlocks of Beacon Hills (Teen Wolf Witches of East End AU):
Scott and
Stiles are half-brothers who lived normal lives, at least until the night of
the party. Stiles is engaged to marry Malia Hale, and he night of his engagement
party, he starts to panic about the dream he had had. He tells Scott about his
dream, about how in his dream he met this guy with dark hair and gorgeous green
eyes and it felt like he had known him forever. But what really has him worried
is the fact that, in his dream, when he kissed the stranger it was perfect.
Scott tells his brother that he’s panicking because the
stress of the engagement is getting to him. Stiles tells him that’s not the
case, but he gives up arguing, knowing Scott would never believe him anyway.
But things get worse when the mysterious stranger from Stiles’ dream shows up
at the engagement party. His world is turned upside down when his fiancé,
Malia, introduces the man as her cousin, Derek.
Later, at the party, Stiles finds himself inexplicably drawn
to Derek, finally caving to his desires and following him upstairs. In a moment
of panic, he tells Derek about his dream, and to his surprise, Derek admits
that he dreamed of Stiles too. Stiles kisses him, and from that point on,
nothing is the same again.
That night, a stray cat shows up on their porch. John,
arriving home from work at the station, reluctantly lets her inside. He tells
her there’s clothes in the closet upstairs, and a little while later, a young
woman comes downstairs dressed in one of John’s shirts that’s massive on her
and a pair of Stiles’ jeans (because they’re the only ones that would fit).
John asks her why she came back. Melissa explains that she
came back to warn him. There’s a shapeshifter taking John’s form and the tarot
cards – no matter how many times they’re drawn – say the same thing: the
Shifter is coming after John.
John tells her that he will deal with it. He’s kept the boys
safe this long and he will continue to keep them safe. Melissa insists that she
stay and help him, but John begs her to let him deal with things his way.
“Why are you pushing me away?” Melissa asks. “I’m only
trying to help.”
“I know, but…”
“But what?”
“The boys don’t know they’re warlocks. I didn’t tell them
this time.”
“How could you not tell them?” Melissa objects.
“Because I wanted it to be different,” John says. “You don’t
know what it’s like to be cursed with immortality and forced to stand idly by
as your sons die over and over again. You don’t know what it’s like to lose
them, to bury them, and then to return home to the sound of a baby crying in
the attic, because suddenly Scott and Stiles are alive again, and the cycle
continues. They boys have never lived past twenty before… I just want to keep
them alive.”
Unfortunately for John, things in the small town
of Beacon Hills escalate: the Shifter frames John for murder and John is forced
to tell his sons they’re warlocks.
