so i feel like every fic about the fire never happening and derek living a happy normal life has derek becoming like a writer or a professor or something – which is totally rad and fits his personality – BUT. i would like to share with you all:

Nurse Derek! Who works at the Beacon Hills Hospital with Melissa! Like. Just imagine him being all nice and gentle with patients and blushing when old ladies come in to bring him homemade fudge and pinch his cheeks and him being super sweet with little kids who come in and are all scared and he always tries to make them comfortable. And then of course he and Melissa get really close and she becomes like his work mom and then Scott and Stiles and the Sheriff by extension become like a second pack to him.

And ofc he uses his werewolf powers to help people by like taking their pain and monitoring their heart rates and whatever else and I wouldn’t be surprised if he offered people with terminal illnesses the bite cause he just cares so much and wants to help people.

I definitely feel like that’s how he meets Erica – like she comes in a lot for her epilepsy or sometimes even after having seizures and she and Derek bond but as her condition starts to worsen, Derek eventually offers her the bite and she joins his pack. And same thing with Isaac – when he keeps coming in with bruises, Derek finds out what’s going on and takes his concerns directly to the sheriff and eventually Isaac eventually moves in with Derek and Derek gives him the bite once he turns 18.

And then with Scott, Derek probably gives him the bite after he has an asthma attack that nearly kills him, and maybe it’s like an emergency thing during the attack or maybe it’s at the hospital after, idk, but then Scott joins his pack and by extension so does Stiles who just follows Derek around asking him questions about werewolves 24/7.

I’m not going anywhere with this, I just like to think about Derek as a soft nurse sometimes.
