Fruit bats often drink by dipping themselves on the surface of a body of water and licking it off their fur. It’s safer than landing and drinking.
Sometimes they don’t quite judge the distance right and get caught in the water, swimming is a good skill. The faster they get out of the water, the better.
Crocs are happy to snap one of these dudes for a meal.
