Can I clear my conscience,
If I’m different from the rest,
Do I have to run and hide?
I never said that I want this,
This burden came to me,
And it’s made it’s home inside

I’ve been trying to leave Rome for a few weeks now, but all their roads have this weird design flaw

Law’s first significant film role came in 1997 when Wilde’s director Brian Gilbert cast him in the part of Bosie, as Lord Alfred Douglas, Wilde’s lover, was know. As with Indiscretions, doing the film was a courages move on Law’s part. Ethan Hawke puts it this way: “If you were a young male actor and wanted to be successful, it was taboo to play a gay man, because people might think that you were gay.” […]
Law, however, dismissed the risks. […] “I thought, Here is a chance to not only tell one of the greatest love stories of one of the greatest literary figures of our time, but also get under the skin of why these two guys fell for each other […] Bosie wore his sexuality so publicly. He released the hand brake, allowed Oscar to sort of juggernaut into it. I love that.” — Vanity Fair, December 2000
Anyone wanna write this?
Since it worked so well the last time I made a ficcy thoughts post, I’m hopeful maybe THIS will find a home too.
I was trying to fall asleep last night when I started thinking about the scene in S1 when Kate brings Allison to see her little plaything, Derek, when she’s got him tied up and tortured. It doesn’t go anything like it did in canon, though. This time, that’s where things change.
Allison figures out it’s Derek HALE, the guy that politely – if silently – drove her home when Scott got sick at that party. That party on the full moon. And Allison realizes pretty quickly this must mean that Derek has exquisite control considering he’s a WEREWOLF. So she makes a quick decision and knocks Kate out when her back is turned (she’s cranking up the electricity again).
Derek is being TORTURED and the good guys don’t do that. Which means that not only is Aunt Kate not a good guy, but she thinks ALLISON would also be okay with being a bad guy just because… what? Because Derek’s eyes glow and he’s a bit harder to manicure?
Allison doesn’t know what to do once she turns off the electricity because Derek passes out and Kate… needs to be stopped. Allison ties Kate up and then calls the only person she can think of who might be able to give answers and help her. Obv not her family, bc if Kate is evil, they might be too. She calls Stiles.
