When hitman Stiles Stilinski is hired to take down Derek Hale for a handsome payment, he doesn’t hesitate to accept. However, it turns out there’s something more handsome than the payment, and that’s Derek himself. Before long, the lines between professional and personal life blur and Stiles finds himself unwilling to go through with the hit. He surrenders to the target, and reveals he was hired by anti-werewolf advocate Gerard Argent. Eventually, the pair team up to take Argent down, and Stiles soon realizes that when he surrendered to Derek, there was a chance he surrendered his heart to Derek too.

“I know my line of work is… morally ambiguous,” Stiles says, “but usually I’m after criminal masterminds. Guys who hurt little kids. Asshole politicians, people like Gerard. I’m not a hunter Derek, and I don’t want to hurt you. I don’t think I ever could.”

Sterek AU — Vampire!Stiles

↳ in which Derek’s pack sniff out the two vampire siblings on the run on their territory

Within Temptation – The Howling   ( pre-story )

Out of the frying pan and into the fire, Stiles thinks to himself as his gaze darts between the giant wolves surrounding them. He can feel the heat of their bodies like a physical presence as they close in, the sound of their fast-pumping hearts annoyingly loud in him sensitive ears. They smell of fresh kill, but it wasn’t human.

Lydia’s grip tightens around him to the point where it would’ve hurt if he was a fragile human boy. As it is, he stands solid on his good leg while trying to come up with a plan how to fight off six freaking werewolves when his other leg hasn’t had the time to heal.

Another hour and the gray slick-looking one would’ve been dead already.

The black wolf right in front of them steps out of the formation, growling deeply through its bared teeth. Stiles lowers his chin and snarls, extending his own fangs despite knowing a fight would kill him. The blood on his lips is dry and so are his insides: he needs to feed, or his leg will never heal enough to run. But even then: they’ll never be able to outrun a pack this big.

He wants to tell his sister that it’ll be okay, that they’ll be safe soon, but he can’t lie. He can only glare at the beast before him, waiting for it to leap and snap its jaws at their jugulars. But the wolf doesn’t attack; it fixes its stare on Stiles and lets its eyes light up in a bright color.

Red. Stiles’ mouth nearly waters at the sight.
